Revision 2.3 Changes

Generally, this revision of the manual was released to coincide with the release of Manhattan 2.3. The changes to this reference make note of the fact that Manhattan 2.3 now supports the use of Hot Potatoes 6 within the Assignments module and that minor improvements were made to the result reporting of the Surveys module.

  1. Added a few notes to the Section called A Tour of "Hot Potatoes" in Chapter 5 that mention the existence of Hot Potatoes 6, and the differences between Hot Potatoes 6 and earlier versions. The screenshots and narrative of the tour are still from Hot Potatoes 5.

  2. Added a note along with a screenshot to the Section called Tracking Student Self-test Activity in Chapter 5 to warn users to NOT check the "Create a separate linked file containing the JavaScript code" option when configuring the output for a self test. This is not a new feature of Manhattan - it's a warning that should have appeared in earlier versions of this reference.

  3. In Online testing: Hot Potatoes exams added notes to explain that Manhattan now supports both Hot Potatoes 5 and 6 within the Assignments module, and briefly explained the differences between the two Hot Potatoes versions. The screenshots and narrative, however, are still based on an example from Hot Potatoes 5.x. Also, added a note to state that Manhattan 2.3 now supports the "Exercise background color" option, and described how Manhattan 2.3 checks a posted Hot Potatoes exam for validity via a pop-up window.

  4. In the Section called Teacher: Collects survey data in Chapter 10 updated the screenshots to show some improvements made to the information presented to teachers when they review the results of a survey.
